Luxrobo and LG Electronics have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for cooperation in the smart education and robotics business.
Through the agreement, the two companies plan to develop a coding education curriculum and content using robots, △ develop applications and related contents linked to robots and Modi Plus, and △ establish an education service system for robot teachers in software (SW) and artificial intelligence (AI) classes.
ModiPlus, the flagship product of Luxrobo, is a block-type coding teaching aid that allows users to learn coding while touching by combining various sensor modules based on the self-developed Micro OS. Anyone can easily practice voice recognition AI content by making a small self-driving car that recognizes the surroundings with a camera module or collecting voice with a microphone module.
Since last October, LG Electronics has supplied ‘LG Chloe Guidebot’ to educational sites for educational purposes. Students can create an app to control the robot to drive the robot, reconfigure the robot home screen as desired, and use it for education by showing videos or image contents created by students on the robot display.
Taking the agreement as an opportunity, the two companies are also discussing strategic cooperation for overseas expansion, such as joint participation in overseas educational technology exhibitions, to respond to the smart edu industry. To this end, they are also seeking joint development of applications and contents related to coding education by combining ‘MODI‘ with LG devices (LG Chromebook , tablet, smart TV, electronic board, etc.).
Hwang Sang-won, vice president of Luxrobo, said, “Through the MOU with LG Electronics, it will be an opportunity to provide not only high-quality coding and AI education contents to regular schools, but also education and services that are practically helpful to both students and teachers.” We will continue to make efforts to develop professional coding and AI education and build infrastructure to the global education site.”
